Rule #1 - Always Obey Rule #1

Well Rule #1 - it is advisable to take the points in prime time games. The underdog is often treating that game [which is often nationally televised] as their Super Bowl and they ratchet up the emotion dramatically. The favorite often has a difficult time matching that intensity - proved to be the golden rule yet again last evening. Unfortunately, we only obeyed it in one of the two games and thus went 1-1. We will not make the same mistake this evening.

Unpickable Master Locks - CFL:

Pittsburgh @ Louisville - (Line is Pittsburgh -6.5) - Home dog in a nationally-televised prime time game - this is a total formula game. Pitt is a better team but not good enough to overcome the home Louisville crowd, the weather (80% chance of rain will level the playing field) or the intensity of the Cardinals. By the way, Pitt gave up 530 yards of offense to NC State in a loss last week. That is not good. There is not a whole lot to like about this Louisville team but don't get too distracted by that fact. They'll find a way to keep this conference battle close to the end. Buy half a point and take Louisville +7. LOCK IT UP

Utah State @ BYU - (Line is BYU -23.5) - BYU is the far superior team in this game and is playing at home. However, the Utah State offense is too good to get beaten by 23 points. We're tempted by the over in this game (64) but will just stick with a straight play. Look to both teams to move the ball fairly easily in this one and the scoreboard operator to get a workout. BYU will end up winning easily but not by more than 23 points. We'll obey Rule #1 in this game too. Take Utah State +23.5. LOCK IT UP
