Two-For Tuesday; Two Days to College Football

Lock up the babies and hide the old ladies. The Locks is ready to rumble today. We woke up today feeling as if we had insight into the future. Not in a how the world is going to end kind of way. More of in a who was going to win the MLB games played tonight. Our faith in today's picks, especially the UMLs, is unshakable. So with no further ado, here are your money makers:

Unpickable Master Locks:

NYY @ Baltimore - All aboard the Yankees Money Train. Hopefully, you've climbed on already but if not, don't let the train leave the station today without you on it. Baltimore is a fine young team. In fact, we've spent countless words on this blog touting the young talent the O's have stockpiled. That is going to be a heartwarming story in 2010 not on Sept 1, 2009. AJ Burnett has historically been a great late season pitcher. All the more reason to expect that he breaks out of his recent mini-funk tonight. The Bomber bats are on cruise control right now and when they only score 5 runs, you wonder what is wrong. I'm pumping this well until it runs dry. Take NY minus 1.5 runs (-115) to win 6-3. LOCK IT UP

Milwaukee @ St. Louis - The Cardinals are the Yankees of the NL for the Locks. We just can't get away from them. Even though the offense has been a bit lackluster of late, we still think this is the team that will meet the Yanks in the Fall Classic. Fat Albert has been very quiet recently but you know that will end with an eruption. We say it happens tonight at the expense of Brandon Looper. Joel Pineiro has been a great #3 starter behind Carpenter and Wainright all year. He's handle the Brew Crew, especially Braun and Fielder, with ease. Look to the Cards to finally throw up a bunch of runs and then ride Pineiro's sinker to the finish line. Take the Red Birds minus 1.5 runs (+110) to win 8-4. LOCK IT UP

San Francisco @ Philadelphia - The Locks does not understand why this is such a big line (Philly -188). For starters, Cole Hamels has not been anything near consistent this season. He's largely been protected by a powerful offense. In fact, he got hit pretty good during his last start against these same Giants. On the other side, Jonathan Sanchez has been on fire of late (2-0, 0.95 in last 3 road starts). He also held this lineup in check earlier this season. Finally, the Giants have much more to play for in this one (e.g. their playoff lives). Take it from someone who watched in person as this team roared back against the Rockies on Sunday afternoon - these guys can taste the postseason. They are a team possessed. Take that all for what it's worth but we're taking the Giants (+168) to win 5-3. LOCK IT UP

LAA @ Seattle - Today is the day to go with the old faithfuls. The Yankees, the Cardinals, and now, the Angels. This offense is potent. They can hit up and down the entire order. It is impressive. Not so much for the M's, who we once dubbed "scrappy" but now are more like crappy. Ervin Santana seems to be rounding back into form for the Angels, too. Just what they need. We think this adds up to trouble for Seattle and Doug the Fister. Look to Vlad to fist Doug at some point during this game. Take the Halos minus 1.5 runs (+115) to win 7-3. LOCK IT UP

Two-For-Tuesday

Pets @ Colorado - The Rockies are an easy pick here for the W. When isn't the team playing the Pets an easy pick for the W? The question becomes is this an over or an under. We get a pretty big number to play with since this game is at Coors Field (9.5). However, we think that is a trap. De La Rosa has been in a groove for the Rocks and Pelfrey threw 6 and 1/3 scoreless against Colorado the last time he faced them. We looking at this as a firm under. Take the Rockies (-240) and under 9.5 runs (-110) for your double W.

Remaining Games:

Pirates (-105)
Cubs (-190)
Rangers - Game 1 (-150)
Blue Jays - Game 2 (+150)
Tigers (-200)
Twins (+130)
