Back From the Wilderness with Winners

The Locks offers a hearty apology for our unplanned and unannounced absence over the weekend. We headed to Lake Tahoe with every intention of keeping up with our daily postings. However, a combination of vodka, Barry Manilow, Miller Lite, Internet service dead zones, Michael Bolton, white wine and whiskey threw up enough roadblocks to render us incapable of delivering the goods. For that, we sincerely apologize. It won't happen again, until the next time.

Last we left you, we offered a number of terrible selections for Friday's games. We must have been suffering from a case of getaway fever and not been thinking clearly. Despite that minor hiccup, we're back today to get our Wins on. The momentum has returned.

Unpickable Master Locks:

Milwaukee @ Washington - We just learned this afternoon that Yovanni Gallardo's "idol" is former Brewer southpaw Teddy Higuera. We fondly remember Higuera as that Mexican guy who continuously shut down the Yankees in the mid-to-late 80s. Anyone who idolizes Higuera has got to be something special. In honor of that, we are positioning Gallardo as the key to today's first UML. Yovanni is due for an absolutely dominating performance and who better to shut down than the Washington Nattys. Better still is the fact that those Nats will start Collin Balester again. This dude is certainly getting ample opportunity to fail. Rest assured, he'll do it again. Take the Brew Crew minus 1.5 runs (-115) to win handily, 8-2. LOCK IT UP

Tampa Bay @ Toronto - Sure Roy Halliday is starting for the Jays. We don't care cause it's TAMPA BITCHES. The Rays have owned the Jays this year. Carl Crawford owns Halladay. And there aren't any guys on Toronto that own Jeff Niemann. Tampa is streaking toward the Wild Card after taking 2 or 3 from Texas over the weekend. We think they keep it going. This Blue Jays team has nothing to play for and that will show. Halladay gets screwed again. Take the Rays (+117) to win 4-3. LOCK IT UP

San Francisco @ Colorado - Barry Zito has been the Giants' best pitcher since the All-Star Break. That was neither a joke nor a typo. It is absolutely true. Boy do the Giants need him today to stop their slide against their primary Wild Card competition. Colorado counters with Jason Marquis who has never, ever been a favorite of the Locks. We give him credit for a solid season but will continue to pick against him when given the chance. That chance is before us today and we embrace it. The Giants need this game and few guys on the Rocks have found success against Zito in their careers. Take SF (+150) to get a desperately needed W. Final score is 5-3. LOCK IT UP

Remaining Games:

White Sox (+175)
Royals (-108)
Twins (-220)
Tigers/Angels Over 8.5 runs (-105)
Mariners (-120)
