King of the World

We're going to have to find some more Digital Underground tunes to pepper our picks with. Thanks to the Hump-Day Dance influence, we put in our best day ever yesterday, hitting 12 of the 15 games and nailing all three Unpickable Master Locks! Guess what? We're just getting started. Today we have an abbreviated slate of games (two early ones that we didn't get in early enough to pick) but that won't stop us from giving you the goods to make some dough. Cue up Mr. Kenneth Powers:

Just a man with a mind for victory and an arm like a fucking cannon!

Unpickable Master Locks:

Detroit @ Boston - The Sox have definitely awoken after their beatdown in the Bronx. However, the Tigers are a team that desperately need a win in this series themselves. Terry Francona is doing Detroit a big favor today with his posted lineup which does not include Pedroia, Youkilis, JD Drew or Varitek. Not necessarily what I'd be doing when facing Justin Verlander. The Tigers, on the other hand, have a stacked lineup against Clay "Buttnut" Buchholz. I expect a hungry Tiger team to grab the W in this one. Take Detroit (-112) to win. Final score of 5-2. LOCK IT UP

Philadelphia @ Chicago - I think that Cliff Lee is enjoying the transition from facing American League lineups to facing National League lineups. His stuff has looked very good in his first two starts for Philly and I expect that to continue today. The Phillie lineup finally got some things going last night as they ass smoked the Cubs pitchers. I think these hitters are starting to feel it and that is not good news for Ryan Dempster who is just not that good of a pitcher. I wish the line was a bit more reasonable in this one but what can you do? Take the fightin' Phils (-142) to prevail 7-3. LOCK IT UP

Pittsburgh @ Colorado - This one is not lining up well for the Bucs. They stink on the road and Colorado loves to play at Coors. Jason Marquis hasn't been himself since his blister issues but we think today is the day he gets back into form. However, his performance probably won't matter too much as we expect Colorado's big bats (Tulo, Barmes, Atkins, Helton and Iannetta) to batter Patty Maholm. Give the Rocks another win as they vigorously pursue a playoff birth. Take Colorado minus 1.5 runs (-120) to win big, 9-5. LOCK IT UP

Remaining Games:

Padres (+180)
Reds (-153)
Mariners plus 1.5 runs (EVEN)
Marlins (-152)
