Early Action - Thursday Style

Quick look at a handful of games about to start:

Colorado @ NYM - Game 1 - Last night's rain out allowed me to rethink this game. I don't care how many games the Pets have won in a row, that lineup has nobody in it. Murphy batting cleanup? Really? I'm taking the Rockies to beat Johan this afternoon. Colorado (+130) wins 5-4. LOCK IT UP

Kansas City @ Baltimore - Sticking with my young O's bats (Jones, Markakis and crew) to keep on rolling up on the Royals. Bergesen is proving to be quite a young talent himself. Look to the Orioles to win this one pretty easily. Take Baltimore minus 1.5 runs (+125) to win 7-3. LOCK IT UP

San Diego @ Cincinnati - Can't figure this one out at all. No pick. These teams stink.

Oakland @ Boston - The A's luck in Boston has run out. They should be happy with two victories. John Lester is just about the only thing the Sox have going now that they can absolutely count on. Look to the BoSox to relieve some pent up frustration in this one. Actually, scratch all that. I just looked at the line in this game. The Sox are a -400 favorite. This after losing the past two games? Not sure how that is possible. Even at minus 1.5 runs you're still looking at a -170 moneyline. I'm going to have to take the A's and the promise of a solid payday. We'll pass up on the +300 win line and instead take Oakland plus 1.5 runs at (+150). That is just too good to pass up. Now watch the Sox blow them out. Oh well. Sox win 5-4. LOCK IT UP

Washington @ Milwaukee - The Brew Crew finally broke through with a much needed win last night. Now they get to turn to their "ace," Yovani Gallardo. This is another insane moneyline but we just love Braun and the Brewer Boys too much. Take Milwaukee minus 1.5 runs (-145) to dominate this game. Brewers will win 9-4. LOCK IT UP

Houston @ Chicago - Cubbies roll up on Russ Ortiz. It's that simple. Take Chicago minus 1.5 runs (-105). They get up big early (just like yesterday) and then coast to victory, 8-4. LOCK IT UP

Back later this afternoon with the evening games.
